Dr. Ulises Ricoy has been awarded a grant in the amount of $1,500.00 from the Dana Foundation to the University of Arizona Foundation. Ulises said, “The award is to support the 2021 Brain Awareness Week Program, NEURON: Neuroscience Education in Undergraduate Research, Outreach, and Networking. The Program promotes and supports neuroscience education and research to underrepresented and underserved high school students using undergraduate mentors. I can also add that our current Grass Foundation funding is aimed at engaging NSCS early career undergraduates (underrepresented) to be mentors to Tucson HS students (underrepresented) and create a peer-mentoring community in Neuroscience education while building their sense of belonging and identity and thus engaged in their studies. The overall aim is to foster these students and build a successful pipeline to Neuroscience at UA”. Congratulations, Ulises!
